Nicole McLaughlin × Yahoo puts the computer room underfoot
Miniature monitors, mice and furniture become footwear components in a Yahoo partnership. Early internet nostalgia takes a surprisingly physical form.
Neon Lion Editorial ·

Nicole McLaughlin has presented a Yahoo collaboration built around the family computer room. The creator’s post is labelled as a paid partnership. One image places a tiny monitor, keyboard and computer tower on a translucent blue shoe.
A desktop beneath your feet
A green element at the heel and slender metal legs turn the shoe into a miniature room. Other designs introduce a computer mouse and a toy desk. Familiar equipment becomes something to inspect at an unfamiliar scale.
Our reading is that Yahoo connects itself to memories of the home internet through recognisable objects. The room is legible before the caption explains it. The sources describe a creative collaboration, without confirming a retail footwear launch.

An exploded vocabulary of nostalgia: cable, translucent plastic and a computer mouse.
